Annual Greek Labor Day Barbecue
Since 1948, Montgomery’s Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church has sponsored the Capital City’s most flavorful Labor Day Barbecue — despite occasional obstacles posed by blistering temperatures, threatening tornadoes, hurricane-force winds and rain, and most recently, a coronavirus epidemic.
There will be no pre-ordering this year. Food will be available on Labor Day while supplies last during pickup hours, from 8am – 12pm. The event takes place on the church grounds, at the corner of Mt. Meigs Road and S. Capital Parkway. Drive-thru pick-up is available.
This year, 2025, our offerings will include slow-roasted Boston Butts for $40, oven-roasted leg of lamb for $30, and the following Greek pastry packages:
- Almond Cookies – 6 for $6
- Almond Crescents – $3 apiece, in packages of 2 or 6 pieces
- Baklava (pastry with walnuts and honey) – $3 apiece, in packages of 2 or 6 pieces
